ColCapital, the Colombian Association of Private Equity Funds, announced the winners of the 2019 Colombian Private Equity Awards during its 6th annual Gala, held on October 17, recognizing those managers that had the greatest impact on the country's development. A committee formed by academic, entrepreneurial, and finance industry experts selected the winners for the following categories: i) greatest impact, ii) best deal of the year, iii) best practices, and iv) social and environmental impact.

Mas Equity Partners won the best deal of the year Award with its investment in Promotora Medica Las Americas. The prize was awarded given the investment’s outstanding return, the successful value-generating process, the execution of a well-defined growth strategy, the improvement of the company’s business model, the implementation of stronger corporate governance practices, and the establishment of robust human resources processes.

Additionally, some of our partners were recognized during the event. Hector Cateriano was recognized for his support, as chairman of ColCapital’s Board of Directors (May 2017 to May 2018), as well as for his contributions to the development and strengthening of the private equity industry in Colombia. Furthermore, Isabella Muñoz was recognized for her dedication and commitment in the creation, implementation, and empowerment of ColCapital, as Executive Director (July 2013 to July 2019), as well as for her valuable contributions to the construction and strengthening of the private equity sector in Colombia.
