MAS Equity Partners was selected to receive financial resources from IDB and OPIC for its next private equity fund

September 2019

David Bohigian, Acting President and CEO of the Private Overseas Investment Corporation (OPIC), and Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), met on Tuesday, September 3, with Ivanka Trump, Adviser to the President of the United States and the Colombian President Ivan Duque, to announce the launch of Fund Mujer and the signing of the first two letters of intent to grant financial resources, one of them with MAS Equity Partners.

MEP, together with another Colombian manager, would mark Fund Mujer's first two commitments in Latin America. Fund Mujer is a partnership between OPIC and IDB Invest to promote gender-including investment strategies in Latin America. Fund Mujer is part of OPIC's2X Challenge program, which aims to mobilize $1 billion to reduce the female labor and financial gap in Latin America.

MEP will address this challenge by investing through MAS Equity Fund IV in businesses with strong influence from or for women. The future fund will be subject to the comprehensive review and approval processes of OPIC and IDB Invest.
